Behind the Scenes on Chef Meg's Video Shoot

By: Stepfanie Romine : 9/4/2009 4:20:02 PM : 27 comments : 6,668 Views

In addition to my blogging and editing duties here on the dailySpark, I'm also the editor of SparkRecipes.com, which means I spend a good bit of time working with Chef Meg and reading the recipes you submit. Some of you might have read on my SparkPeople Friend Feed that we taped another round of recipe and cooking videos with Chef Meg Galvin this week. We tape at the Midwest Culinary Institute here in Cincinnati in a state-of-the-art demo kitchen that is also used to tape a local cooking show called "The Dish," which stars Chef Meg.

Working with Chef Meg to develop and test recipes for you is one of the most interesting parts of my job. (OK, I admit. There is really no uninteresting part of my job!) Though I consider myself a pretty good cook, I'm no master chef, and each time we tape with Chef Meg, I learn more about cooking and food! Though it's hard work to produce the videos, it's also great fun for everyone involved.

I thought you might enjoy a behind-the-scenes blog post and a sneak peek at some of the recipes we'll be posting on the site in coming weeks! (Chef Meg adds new recipes to the site each week, so be sure to check out her Healthy Home Cooking page on SparkRecipes!)

Do you have a favorite Chef Meg recipe? What is it? Is there a particular recipe you'd like to see her make over? If so, tell us in the comments!

Great blog. Great Recipes. My suggestion is lower Sodium recipes. A lot of people including myself have to have low sodium foods. I see in a lot of recipes a lot of sodium. can you make some listed as low Sodium. Thanks so much

I agree with the poster below me. Made a suggestion to allow anyone to post a photo to any recipe since we all try each others' recipes. Did not see a response from SP techs or staff/ However, literally every SP user that responded to the post agreeed in their responses.

Like Chef Meg's recipes...did not know how to find them. Thanks for the link -will save in my favorites.

My DH loves bacon wrapped scallops ( I got a recipe at SP ) and Sausages with peppers. I rarely make it for him due to the fat contents besides the sodium. Any tricks to reduce those in the recipes?

I am very much a visual person. In order for me to try one of the recipes that are posted here, I really would like to see what it looks like. Is it possible to post a picture of the new reader recipes?

Ok, I know we kinda' had this answer already but I'd really like to see this:
Healthy mac and cheese (the real stuff) and scalloped potatoes and creamy chicken pot pie, and lots of comfort foods. They are my weakness.
Thank you so much for the recipes!!!! I love to collect recipes of all kinds! Thank you SP and Chef Meg!
