Track Your Goals in Style with 'Counting Jewelry'
Editor's note: The writer reached out to Count on Me Jewelry because she is a fan of the company, which in turn provided her with bracelets to review.
Count on Me Jewelry takes counting anything to fun new level. Each piece is hand-made and unique. You get to choose your counting charm, which moves around a set of beautiful beads subtly counting for you. They are “A healthy reminder that you are beautiful and can feel better.”
I found the concept intriguing, so I tried it. I thought it was a bargain at $14.95. When the bracelets arrived, I was very surprised at how beautiful they were. These bracelets looked like something from an upscale department store. You get to personalize your bracelets by picking your colors and counting charm.
The two bracelets I got were the 100 calorie and the 50 calorie bracelets. You start at a heart shaped stone on each, which points the way around the bracelet. The number of beads and spacers on the bracelet let you know whether you are counting 50 or 100 calories. Every bracelet allows for 2,000 calories. If you need more, the site suggests counting past the heart stone a second time.
Obviously the same bracelet does not work for all purposes and more jewelry is coming sooner. They are planning to offer pregnancy and fertility tracking jewelry. I would personally suggest they offer bracelets to track exercise minutes and glasses of water. If those could somehow be added to the calorie counter bracelet along with another 2 counting charms, that would be my perfect bracelet.
When I wore the jewelry, it felt good. There were no rough edges to catch or scratch my skin or clothing. The mixture of colors allowed it to look nice with any outfit. I REALLY liked the subtlety of being able to count calories without making a big deal of it. Having arthritis in my hands, I was pleasantly surprised that they simply stretched on and off. If this is a concern of yours, I would address it when ordering. They are very customer friendly and willing to please.
I have seen other counting jewelry online, however it costs much more per piece. One bracelet was lovely, but also carried a price tag of nearly $100. This was the first bracelet that caught my eye as far as being both beautiful and inexpensive.
If you or a friend are looking for a new fun way to count calories together or separately, this is a really fun place to start.

I have problems with the food tracker freezing up when I do use it.. - 12/19/2011 2:51:40 PM
At any rate, now that I'm a little older and don't want to make a style statement with rubber jewelry on a regular basis I still have use for three of them. When I strength train, I start with 3 on one wrist and as I go through my sets I switch to the other wrist. (They're loose enough that they don't interfere with my form.)
Yes, I can usually count in my head, but there is something satisfying about physically seeing the progress I'm making! - 12/19/2011 10:12:41 AM
Only problem I would have for counting fitness points is I'm a swimmer and this would be pretty awkward to count laps. I remember my laps in a couple of ways. There are four basic strokes in swimming and so I play around with the numbers and strokes, trying to make a geometrical progression. Keeping the numbers going in my head also keeps me in the moment, and not thinking about what is in store for the rest of the day, impatient to finish so I can be somewhere else. - 12/19/2011 1:02:28 AM
What is not indicated is how the charm is moved. Is it a lobster claw clasp? The ease or complication of moving the charm would be relevant to how much it actually gets used.
