We Ate It: SOY JOY bars
SOY JOY's TV commercials, with brightly colored animations, are really entertaining, so when our bars arrived we couldn't wait to dive in.
We tried all six flavors: Berry, Strawberry, Mango Coconut, Peanut Chocolate Chip, Raisin Almond and Apple.
Everyone loved the Apple, Peanut Chocolate Chip and Raisin Almond. We weren't keen on the Mango Coconut.
Be warned: The bars are small, but they are dense and satisfyingly chewy. They're dark in color and have a strong, sometimes spicy flavor. We decided we would like to eat the Soy Joy bars with a glass of milk (or soy milk) or a cup of tea or coffee.

Our thoughts:
"It smells and tastes a little like a Fig Newton, and you can see the raisins and bits of almond."
"I like that it uses real, whole ingredients and has a shorter ingredients list than most protein bars. Tastes and looks more natural. Can smell and taste the flavor of strawberry, but it's not overwhelming."
"A little drier than I'd expect (like you, with that fat content I'd expect more moisture), but I actually really liked the taste. It reminded me very much of a biscotti, it would be a great 140 calorie mid-morning snack along with a cup of coffee or tea."
"It was dense, with good strawberry flavor. It reminded me of a fat-free muffin."

To all of you who say you "can't give 'em away they're so bad", totally send them my way, I"ll take them off your hands! - 5/1/2009 4:28:28 PM
As for nutrition bars, I look for LOW calorie, HIGH fiber, and HIGH protein. I don't want to just eat something sweet that tastes good. I am looking at my total nutritonal intake.... - 4/30/2009 12:16:59 PM

I just recently had a 'Fiber Plus' bar from Kelloggs and I thought it was great.
It took care of my chocolate craving for a treat. Dark Chocolate (that's a plus) with almonds and lots of crunchy tecture (latter from rolled oats & crisp rice)
A box has 5 bars that weight about 1.2 oz each.
Each bar is 130 Calories
Total Fat 5g
Sodium 50 mg
Total Carbohydrate 24 g
Dietary Fiber 9g
Sugars 7g
Protein 2g
I'm in no way connected with Kelloggs, but truly enjoyed this last night when wanted 'SOMETHING' (We've have all had that feeling) :o)
But in case they are listening, Kelloggs should send me something for all the raving that I am doing. LOL - 3/21/2009 7:58:38 AM
SoyJoy doesn't contain trans fat/ hydrogenated oils but are made w/ whole soy (natural soy oils w/ omega-3 fatty acids**healthy type of fat), eggs & milk, & Maltodextrin (a natural source of fiber derived from corn). That's great cause it FITS right into my lifestyle of "maintenance" as a nibbly or grab & go for it satisifies hunger & is a healthy & nutritious.

I really enjoy (most) of the Luna bars. These Soyjoy appeal to me, though, because I prefer to keep things clean and natural! I'll keep my fingers crossed. - 1/27/2009 12:06:59 AM
